Aptx Bluetooth vs Apple Tv + Optical
#1
Hello,
This is my first post. I have one Silver Phantom. I don't plan in the near future to have a second one as I use the speaker in the office where what I need is a solid compact speaker. Having said that, I want to get the most of it and want to make the sound as lossless as possible.

Possibilities:
1 - If I connect my laptop/iphone to the speaker via wifi, I can only stream from Spotify, not Tidal, so it's not ideal.

2 - I can connect the laptop to the speaker via bluetooth (aptx) and stream Tidal. Wonderful but bluetooth is not ideal (I have to have the laptop centimeters away from the speaker) and I guess even Aptx is not lossless.

3 - Buy a Dialog. The issue is that I have two networks at home, one is a wireless modem without ethernet port. The other is an actual router with a very very poor connection which will not be able to stream hi-def music by any means. So if I have to connect dialog via ethernet cable, I guess the music will have to be downloaded through the same network connection and that will not work. Besides, I do not plan to get another Phantom so it seems a waste to buy a dialog.

4 - I connected an Apple TV to the Phantom via optical cable (QED) and stream music from Tidal in my laptop to the Apple TV via wifi (Airport).

Now, I guess this final solution I found is ideal because it's over wifi and the source is lossless (tidal). But as I am not an expert, let me know if there is something I could do better. Is there any bottleneck in this system? Assuming Tidal is lossless, the stream to apple TV is lossless, and the optical cable is lossless, and phantom speakers do not have any issues with optical input, it looks perfect to me. But please clarify Smile

Thanks so much!
