Hey everyone,
I have been using the Devialet Expert Pro 220 with my turntable setup for a few months now & it is blowing my mind. I knew it would sound great, but there is something about the analog warmth it delivers that I was not quite expecting — the detail and separation are next level.
I am using it with a Clearaudio Concept and a pair of Focal speakers. Curious if others here are pairing their Expert Pro with vinyl setups & what your experiences have been like? Any tips for tweaks or settings that help bring out the best from a vinyl source? Also wondering if SAM has made a noticeable difference for you vinyl folks — I have been playing with it a bit.
Thank you.

I´m new in this forum, but i´m not sure, if this post is at it right place, also i can´t find a pure vinyl theme here.
Actual i couldn´t say anything about SAM, cause my speakers aren´t saved there, maybe one day they will
My vinyl experiences didn´t match to yours, also i thought maybe to sell my external Phono-Pre when bought my 220 Pro,
but after listen to both, i knew i will keep my external Pre, it just sounds more voluminous, more realistic, more full-bodied, it's hard to describe but it's definitely more fun with it.
Ok, but i also have to admit, even though it's a pure MM pre, it cost a lot more than the most of the usual pure MM pre's.
But basically the 220 Pro is an incredible amplifier, I bought it primarily for that reason and not to replace all the other components with it.

My Devialet (the 120 model) has an inferior phono stage, so it is not apples to apples.
I can only say that, in my case, the use of a step-up dramatically improved the sound quality. Without, I found the noise floor disappointing and the experience a bit fatiguing.

I like to comment shortly and yes, I agree that the quality from Devialet phono is very good, because
from my own setup, it outperforms the LINN phono amps, even the expensive ones.
But Devialet's input stage has not been developed for moving coil, it is much more noisy than e.g. Linn.
The simple reason for the good sound but noisy MC might be simply, that there is no real phono amp, instead a digital correction without any disturbing and bad sounding capacitors in row with the signalpath. I used a step-up-transformer (SUT) from Lundahl company therefor to get rid of the noise.
Really good phono pre-amps will outperform Devialet, anyway, for sure.
