If your source is 16 or 24 bit the result will not have a bigger resolution as long as you are not using a good upsampler like HQPlayer.
Using the DSD option only makes sense if you have original DSD files. Otherwise you introduce two format changes which is never good...
I tried all these options for PCM files and keeping PCM was always the best option.

Most of your comment I agree with but "two format changes which is never good..." I think this piece mainly depends on your system.

I use Audirvana on Mac Mini (2018) and transfer the music via a USB cable to Devialet. I think somehow the noise I have on PCM is higher than DSD and I decided to stick with it.

Coming back to 6db volume loose, I don't mind that as exactly because of that reason I upgraded to 440 Pro and I am super good with -30db to -20db range with my speakers with DSD.
