On pressing power button on remote, display lights up. SAM display starts to appear. There are 2 clicks and then it switches off
Will continue to cycle like this until AC power plug is removed
Any suggestions please?
Thanks

Sounds like some kind of built-in protection might be switching in. Maybe try disconnecting speakers as a first step to track it down? That might buy you enough time to check the fault display. Probably worth contacting Devialet support, though, as unless it's something obvious and external like a shorted speaker/cable it might need a factory repair.

Done all those things prior to posting
Can measure 9.1 ohms on L and R speaker plugs
Disconnected all inputs
Removed SD card
Waited 12 hours before powering up again
Unfortunately the fault display does not come on as it never stays on long enough

Fixed it
On another post there is some discussion about using 2 x 220CIs to create a 440 CI but by using the Digital out from the Master to AES on the companion for the link. Using this wiring system, the ground pin on the XLR socket is not connected
The consensus is that it will allow the combo to achieve better sound
On the AES socket (on the companion) there is a switch that alters its state when a XLR socket is inserted. This creates a floating ground on the AES socket. At the same time, the right hand Optical was changed to Trigger.
There was a 12 volt 9mA difference on the ground of the trigger cable. This seems to have caused a protection circuit to prevent the amp starting. Removing this trigger cable and ensuring that an accurate SD card was created for the companion sorted it out
I was somewhat surprised to find a fair bit of dust inside the enclosure, near a heatsink. A quick toot with an industrial blower fixed that
