CLassical SONO vs DEVIALET PHANTOM for DJING
#1
Hi,

With optical input, 60ms in DOS2 in stereo (but only stable with an ETHERNET cable between left/right that take priority to the WIFI/CPL soluce after reboot, 60 ms is not STABLE with WIFI or cpl), is better than 190ms or more in AIRPLAY

But for D'JING 60ms, is to high

Hope that optical direct mode at 1ms will be back in DOS2 as in previous DOS 1.... (To use Phantom as monitor or DJING) :

Here comparaison of SPL/cost soluce,  between classical SONO system and Devialet products :

There’s no doubt that these speakers are not useful for live performance. I never saw the 1ms of latency. I hope that comes back if true.

hi,

Low latency here, with optical input and DOS 1 :

so they have the hardware for live use Smile

I knew about direct optical, but I thought that was just low latency - is it really down to 1ms?

Annoying that that thread doesn't show you what the actual latency is with direct optical mode. It can't be 0ms. So what is it?

There are Dante Phatom reactors which would allow super low latency. Djing with these would be much better than normal phantoms for sure

Devialet confirmed to me over Twitter that the Custom Reactors with Dante still have 60ms of latency. This would not be acceptable for performance DJing.

Latency on Phantom Premieres in optical direct mode is less than 1ms.  I can confirm that with my setup.

Wow. Okay. Thanks for confirming. Do you think it would be the same for the Custom Reactors?
