DJ Controller to DAC (or something?) to Phantom 1 pair

Gotcha, of course.  I never really thought of connecting a mixer to a hub with just a little aux cable, but why not.
I suppose this works just as well as the Bluesound Node 2i njsawal below mentioned?  To me it looks like these would do approximately the same task?

Looks like the Bluesound would provide a little better streaming control than the Avantree.

This looks pretty good..
Are you using a dj controller yourself?  Just curious if you have any delay/latency issues.  I can't see why but just in case.

So you feed the Node via the optical/analog 3.5mm jack combo I assume, direct from mixer?

How do you like using the Bluesound in terms of Bluetooth functionality?  Ie. just using the receiver as a BT hub versus the stock Phantoms in Bluetooth/wireless mode.

This looks promising!

Sorry one last question - are you driving 2 Phantoms from the Optical out or just 1?
Wondering if there's a specific splitter you use or if it doesn't matter.

Hi I’m not sure sure how to create a new post so I’ll try jump on this one..

I want to connect a dj controller to my four phantoms (2xI ,2xII) in my restaurant in order to dj via Djay Pro. Mono to all speakers is what I want. I am completely new to djing and hoping to achieve this via optical to avoid the latency issues. Can anyone steer me in the right direction?

Huge thank you

Just going via optical will introduce unacceptable latency. You will need to use “optical direct” mode on the Phantom Is, so you’d need some kind of optical splitter since this means you will lose wifi and controls other than via the web interface.

The Phantom IIs do not support optical direct mode. You would need to replace them with Phantom Customs.

Trust me - I DJ twice a week. You will not just get away with optical normally. Your DJs will lose their minds.
