Devialet Repair Service
#1
I have a trusty Phantom Golds from 2016, that are still working fine (who could've believed at), but now I have one Phantom Gold that I got from an UK auction recently, and it came with a visible dent on the right ear. So, I decided to go with a Devialet Repair program, and would like to share some of the bits that I haven't been aware of before.

So the process started simple for me, I used live chat or whatsapp on the Devialet website. From there I've got contacted by a support specialist, who asked to provide 6 photos of Phantom in question (left, back, right, front, top, bottom with visible serial number).

Then they've asked to complete a bug report from Devialet app, probably to have it as a "proof of life" for the phantom.

Then they confirmed the visible defect that I had, a dent on an ear, and quoted me with a 350€. Actually, this is quite a good price, since Devlialet is taking care of multiple UPS shippings in it, probably costing them 60-80€

1. They ship you a special package to return the Phantom.
2. They pay for shipping of the Phantom back to France, the package goes to Flexdynamic company at Le Châtelet-en-Brie
3. They pay for shipping back.

Today I have received the packaging, check Imgur here https://imgur.com/a/QnW4Qn2. Inside of the packaging you have:
1. External carton
2. Huge layer of foam material
3. Original Phantom box, sans the external carton that holds it together
4. Instead of external paper layer, they send two stickers to close the box
5. Phantom "sock" that you put on it for minor protection (btw, it's VERY, VERY slippery)

Now I have packed everything and bringing the Phantom to a UPS dropoff point, and would see how it goes from there.

So far service is absolutely superb — everything is done and replied politely and on time.

So far, it was delivered to their shop in France and I am waiting for communication (or a returned speaker).

Today I've received a speaker back from Devialet. First of all, like with many or all other cases, it's a newer model, not a repaired one. The serial number starts with U, meaning that it's one of the freshest Phantoms (also now it has a fresnel lens like power button on the back with integrated light). From the look of it, it seems that speaker probably was refurbished at some point, there is some patina / marks on the gold sides, but that's the least concerning thing.

Summing it up:
1. Phantom 1 Gold, 6-7 years old was dented
2. Devialet asked for a photos, confirmed the repair, and then took a 350€ payment
3. Devialet sent a transport box to me together with UPS label to send it back
4. Speaker was sent back, and in about 5 days later, I've received a replacement speaker, which is of a newer generation
5. Now it comes with 12 months warranty
6. It seems I can keep transport box for myself too

I'd say this is an absolute bargain and Devialet did an amazing job there.
