I had 200 upgraded to 220 PRO using GT1 and GT3, and I don't hear a noticeable improvement. I will stay with D400, you get two Class A power instead of one.

Did you end UP buying an D220 and selling your D400? What is your opinion in the sound quality between them?

If the question is: can I use a D220 Pro as master with a D200 as companion? Then I believe that the answer is no.

Yes, that does not work.

In any case: in my test, a D250Pro cannot compete with a D400. The Monos just deliver a complete different stage, transparency and sound. Same with the D1000 > the monos are a complete different amp than the D250Pro.

My experience is exactly the opposite, the 250 pro is clearly better than a D400.

It depends of the speakers - how "hungry" they are.
Small not too demanding speakers will probably be better with 250 Pro. Large demanding - with 440 Pro.

That is my experience.
