Ethernet streaming and occasional white noise on Windows
I've never had white noise issues with either:

Homebuilt Intel i7-2600k, Asus P8Z68-V motherboard, 16G RAM, AMD Radeon HD 7900 running Win 7 64-bit and JRiver MC 19/20
Asus EeePC B202 running Win 7 32-bit & JRiver MC 19/20

The more powerful homebuilt PC has given me dropouts though - no white noise

I have had the problem with AIR 2.1.2 when I forgot to switch off WASAPI, and was running 24/192 using iTunes via Ethernet from my Dell Inspiron 530 PC using Windows 7. Have now installed 2.1.3, turned WASAPI off, and changed resolution to 16/44.1 and have not had the problem since! As my iTunes library is only ripped CDs the latter settings are fine for me and the SQ is still good.

Using AIR is, hopefully, only a temporary state for me whilst my Music Server is away being upgraded to SSD memory, so using 16/44.1 is not a hardship!

I use an Intel NUC DC53427 with W2012 R2 and MC20. I get white noise too often with this combination. At the moment I run Voyage Linux on the NUC (different mSata disk). This is very good and stable.

I've never had problems with white noise. I use a MacBook Pro 2008, Air Ethernet straight from Mac to D.

Thanks for the effort!

Thanks to those who replied! As well as to those who did not, as this would complicate the matters even more Smile
It would probably take a super computer, to figure out any correlation here. Perhaps, it means there is none. (I wonder if this super computer would also suffer from the white noise issue, when coupled with AIR...)
I'll ask you all one more question, if you're not tired of them yet. Could you post if:
a) You have a "double" network, and are NOT getting the issue
or
b) You have a "single" network, and ARE getting the issue.
By a single network, I mean reusing the same network for both music streaming and other needs (like Internet browsing)
By a double network, I mean using a dedicated network for streaming, and another one for Internet connections (that's my setup). I guess using a direct connection would fall under this category as well.
Trying to see if there is possibly any correlation between a double network and the issue.

My network has a switch at the Devialet end (other devices connected to it but powered off whist I am streaming) and a switch at the computer end. The switch at the computer end only has the computer connected plus a connection to my router. All other devices connect to the router. So apart from when the computer I use for streaming needs to connect to the internet, no other traffic from other computers and mobile devices uses the Devialet part of the network.
