Firmware 10.0.2 is now available for download

Updated to FW 10.0.2 last night and my 1st impressions after a 1-hr short audition is that the LF is now much tighter & controlled with better PRAT that also addresses the entire bass & mid-bass. This allows superior start-stop-start of the music ... thus the overall clarity improves. 

Similarly - the upper treble also appeared to be more extended .. that on my speakers benefited to portray better 3-dimensionality along with wider & deeper sound-staging .. scale also improves .. 

Its still very new and need to listen more to fully understand its overall effect ... 

All-in-all, its a likeable improvement so far ...  but am having a bit of an issue with Devialet AIR 3.0 beta & Ethernet on Audirvana that was otherwise all good prior to the FW update.

The update is looking very good indeed ... sound quality has taken a big leap BUT Audirvana is skipping continuous streaming on & off ... 

Now - how the hell does one resolve this ??

I am noticing the same as some of you. Sound is a bit better but AIR wifi no longer stable. I have submitted a Support request.

If AIR is using 'hog mode/exclusive mode' as suggested in Quentin Sannies's recent post then I would think you will need to change the corresponding parameters in Audirvana so they don't conflict. I don't think they can both be in 'exclusive' mode

Went back to Air 2.13 and it's all right again, including stable streaming in 96k over Ethernet and stable below over Wifi.

Just my 2c - I upgraded my D400 this morning; everything fine, correctly plays 96k files over ETH and WiFi using Air3b from Roon. Sounds great, and at least as good as 9.01, if not better.

Let's hope whatever has happened is easily resolved.

Ah, that sounds promising. I had streamed from iTunes only ... will go back to Air 3beta again and test with Roon. Did you check the frequency on the Devialet screen as well?

Yes, indeed I did. It reported 96k for both wired and WiFi.

Seamless upgraded to the latest FW this morning and now listening with greater attention for the first time.

I find the sound more airy, more playfull, wider stage, clearer. I think I like it.

Or maybe 'I want to believe'  the sound has changed and with that assumption the listenting happens with more attention again. Whatever it is, isn't it great to make this experience again and again with the same hardware? Isn't that just evidence what great setups we have in our rooms?

Noticed an immediate improvement to presence and air with 10.0.2 over 7.1.3 (B&W 805 D2, Dev 120, SAM ON) .. but yeah bass does appear to have less weight to it than before... i'm preferring this over 7.1.3 right now... should mention i listen relatively quietly, -40 to -30 usually

AIR3 beta does not currently provide bit perfect support for iTunes i.e. it does not switch sampling rates automatically. If you want to listen to higher sample rate recordings with iTunes and AIR3 you need to change the AudioMidi settings manually. Hopefully bit perfect support will be restored in AIR3 shortly...
