Here's an article from Sound And Vision about power conditioners. Again, I know you skeptics have a point, and I'm not debating the logic behind it. I'm simply saying that after plugging the modem and router into a power conditioner it feels like the sound changed.

I guess the only way to prove to yourself for sure is to ask someone very patient to switch it from the power conditioner and back again 50 times or so and see how often you guess where it is? 

Likely to drive you insane and do more harm than good - but I would love to know the honest outcome

An easy way to test the possibility of this would be simply to disconnect the cable modem and play some music through the Phantoms, no? 


As it happens, my modem is in a very dusty place and I'm quite pleased with the sound of mine so I'm hesitant to try it myself
