Options seem to be:

1. Innuos ZenMini Mk III +2TB SSD + LPSU                 = £1,448

2. Zen Mk III + 2TB SSD                                            = £1,999

3. Roon Nucleus + power supply + 2TB SSD                 = £2,400

4. Small Green Computer Server + 2TB SSD + SBooster = $1,600   (cheaper to import even with VAT/duty)

????

I bought a SonicTransporter with 1GB SSD from Small Green Computer a year or two ago and have always been very pleased with this. I bought a cheapish PSU from MCRU to go with it, not that I'm sure it ever made much of a difference but it was inexpensive. My ST sits in my study next to a switch, and then it's 20M of Cat7 to my listening room switch. It feeds off a completely separate electrical circuit.

I have been considering going to the latest i5 or even i7 which would give me more DSP options, but what I have now works great.

Do you use it as a Roon server for the totaldac ?

Yes, the TD d1 server is Roon Ready.

Hi, Anyone out there with an Innuos using the new firmware/DOS and Roon over USB?

When I look at the signal path in Roon on my iPAD I see RAAT next to Zenith but not next to my Devialet, and also in The Roon/Settings/Audio I see Roon Ready on my Ethernet connection but not USB.

I not sure what to expect, and I am a bit confused Dodgy

Thanks

Graham

RAAT works over network connections. Wifi and ethernet are network connections, USB is a direct connection. Roon uses RAAT to communicate with the USB output of your Zenith but Innuos is responsible for communication over USB to the Devialet and it doesn't use RAAT to do that.

Swap to the ethernet connection and the signal path will show that Roon is communicating with the Devialet using RAAT.

Does anyone have experience how the Innuos servers behave in the case of a power outage? With the older generation LIV Juke NAS I needed to have a keyboard and a monitor available because the NAS could never boot after one.

The Innuos has 2 modes; power on (white LED) and operational mode (coloured LED). In the event of a power fail the Innuos drops back to the power on mode and requires a button push to go back into operational mode....takes about 10-15 seconds to initialise.

A new product from Innous has been announced, see links below. Apparently the Innuos Phoenix is the "USB reclocker" part of the Innous Statement, designed as an add on item for owners of the Innuos Zenith, or other devices outputting USB. I quite enjoyed the comments after the Audiosteam news article, straight in there with an objective versus subjective argument, even before anyone has actually listened to one of these things. An interesting if obviously controversial product. Are there any Zenith owners out there thinking of trying one with their Devialet?
