I started out with an Expert 200 and updated to the 220 Pro and then later added a 2nd 220 Pro (now 440 Pro). Each step was a quite noticeable improvement (my ears, my room, my system) but, of course, whether it was worth the cost is a choice for each to make. No regrets here. Not sure if it's even possible to still upgrade to a Pro, and I doubt I would do that now even if I could.
Today, if I owned an Expert (not Pro), I think I'd just hang on to it if I still enjoyed the sound. I'm sure it still has residual value, but may prove difficult to sell.
I'm still enjoying my 440 Pro and would never remotely consider the Astra because a) the way Devialet abandoned development of the Expert Pro series and b) the crazy Astra pricing. But hey, that's just me.
