Need an answer please

Hello
I have asked Devialet and couldn't get an answer.
Maybe I am not wording it right, I want to know is there a way of connecting my Mania to wifi (hotspot) on my iphone to listen to music when away from any router signal so as to get that better sound? - assuming I can't....... or is there a way around it.
So if the only way is BT, then I have wondered if using Spotify with it's EQ (the only app that lets you use an EQ with apple) maybe I could tweak the sound to boost it up to close to the same sound as Wifi.
Thanks for looking.

I don't own a Mania nor have I ever used one.
Looking at the specifications you have the option of wifi or bluetooth. The only way of connecting your phone to Mania if both are not attached to wifi, is bluetooth.

What you want to do is to create a wifi hotspot with your phone, connect the Mania to this hotspot and then stream over wifi from the phone to the Mania. Assuming you are using an iPhone:
  • AirPlay requires both the phone and speaker to be on the same Wi-Fi network.
  • You can’t use AirPlay directly from an iPhone to a speaker via the iPhone’s own hotspot, because the phone can’t host the hotspot and join it as a client at the same time.
Workaround:
  • Use AirPlay via a second device (e.g., iPad, MacBook) connected to the iPhone's hotspot. The second device can AirPlay to Mania.

Thanks for your input Drifter, the Mania won't connect to the hotspot on a phone unfortunately, only a router - think it's something about protocols.
Wish I could plug in a optical fiber cable like I can on the Phantom when out and about.
The best work around that gives good sound I have found so far is playing music on the iphone or an android tablet and use XEQ app on the tablet, giving me close to the router experience.
Just was hoping for a less clumsy hi res way.
