Sorry but that is exactly the opposite effect to what happens on my 400. There has to be something incorrect with your upgrade or your system.

No I use coax or optical - with cheap home made cables.

Air doesn't work as Microsoft and Apple keep doing updates and changing the goalposts. I don't think I would fancy trying to write software to suit either operating system let alone both of them.
