New product launch?
I will also not travel the upgrade path. The price for the D200 is ridiculously high. I will save the money and upgrade to a 250 pro in the future.....

Not inexpensive for sure. Still, I'm in and hoping to be an early adapter. My 400 sounds terrific so I'm ready for the leap of faith to get better sound.

Worst yet now if you were to sell, you get 120 used pricing for a 200. Or does the 120 used price now go up a little, I hope. Sigh!!

Curious about the retail prices for the new models. Buying a s/h d-premier, upgrading it to the 250 expert pro could be the way to go, also when reselling it to partially fund the upgrade of your 120/200/250. Think you have to be quick though, when word gets out to d-premier sellers, asking prices will surely rise

I suggested a fixed price, regardless of model, for the upgrade earlier. Owners already paid the premium of the more expensive models at original purchase. So completely fair to me/IMO

They went through with the upgrade to the next model in line for current 120 owners, which is smart business wise to attract 120 buyers (who might otherwise not/never upgrade) but of course could feel like a slap in the face for many of the current D200 owners which I believe is their most popular model (I could be wrong though).

Not that power is really important, I think it's the least important parameter in this upgrade (and it's maximum power, short term only), but I do find it strange the 250P stays at 250. It'll be one of my first questions when Devialet opens the forum part on their website. Perhaps there's a good technical reason but they should explain why the 250P stays at 250 while the 500 can first go to 800 and now 1000 in the same case, using in effect the same electronics as the 250.

One thing (the only thing actually) that suprised my is that the 250P THD/THD+N specs are identical to the 440P which is a dual mono design. The 130/220P have less good specs. This, if correct, indicates to me that there is now a difference in the electronics inside.

"Given a typical dealer margin of around 45-50% on new units, it seems that Devialet will make about as much money on each upgrade as they would on a new sale. Not a bad business model, if they can get away with it. "

Agree, these are not accommodation prices for existing customers.

It's maybe ok for 120 owner to get additional 100 watts power - but at 200 owners only 20 - it's a bit unfair when considering the original price from Dev 120 and Dev. 200! I think about selling my Dev. 200!!!

Well said, same situation here.

Just received the same email, and must say I am pretty disappointed as a D200 owner since december 2015. Not that there is an upgrade, but that there is no price differentiation between D120 and D200 upgrades to D220 Pro. For this money I could also upgrade to a D400.

Oh some other surprises, there's mentions of: "Synchronisation : Up to 8 units" and "Intelligence Up to 8 units" in the specs of the 220P and up but they're missing in the 130P specs. No idea what these specs mean, if they're for Phantom integration, other Experts or ...?

The 1000P is indicated to have a 1200W continous PSU, the 130/220/440P the "usual" 600W (just like all current models). This is either f#ck up, misleading (as they sum the PSU's of both boxes, which they never did and now only do for the 1000P) or there's really a 1200W PSU in each.
