The EQ settings for my Quad electrostatics are:
ROON REW-Rephrase
Band 1 300 Hz 3.0 dB Q 2.0 Q 2.38
Band 2 1200 Hz 1.0 dB Q 8.0 Q 8.47
Band 3 2000 Hz -2.0 dB Q 2.0 Q 2.24
Band 4 3500 Hz 1.0 dB Q 8.0 Q 8.47
Band 5 4500 Hz - 3.0 dB Q 7.0 Q 8.32
Band 6 6000 Hz 2.5 dB Q 4.0 Q 4.62
Band 7 11000 Hz 3.0 dB Q 8.0 Q 9.51
Band 8 16000 Hz 5.0 dB Q 0.4 Q 0.53
Band 9 20000 Hz 7.0 dB Q 1.0 Q 1.5
Although I own the latest Quad ESL 2812; these settings can be used for the ESL 63, 988, 989, 2805, 2905 and the 2912 as well.
I used a lot of articles, measurements and reviews to come to these conclusions and it has nothing to do with the acoustic environment.
Pure compensation; best worded by the review of the Quad ESL 2812 in The Absolute Sound May 31st 2016.
I also mounted May 2020 Iso-Acoustics Gaia 3 (€ 250) on the back and Iso-Acoustics Gaia 2 (€ 350) on the front of the ESL speaker. For € 600 a super-modification.
Sounds superb!
Above settings are my main txt files; in the alternate files are the corrections for my Stax 507 headphones now.
Good listening!
