For me Roon could be the perfect platform if they also had a bit perfect solution for Mac / Expert and probably more integrations with music servers... is there any information on their roadmap?
Xander, you only need subscription for content if you want to use Tidal, otherwise it works with your local library - which is how man y use it. Personally I think it's far better with Tiday as its a really good integration, but just depends how you like to roll…..
The bit-perfect Mac/Expert solution is there now via USB. If you want to use it via AIR (jn exclusive mode) or you want native 'RoonReady' in your Devialet, the best thing you can do is email customer support at Devialet, and probably post on their Facebook page too. Roon are gagging to provide both, but only Devialet can allow it to happen.
As far as I know there are no plans announced for more music services, although we all hope that this changes soon. I would love Qobuz, but again, it appears Qobuz themselves are the stumbling block there as Roon (apparently) have very specific criteria for integrating something into their product well, and so far only Tidal have allowed it. I've never heard any others discussed.
