I suppose you are going to try the Mutec together with the microRendu?

Absolutely, AIR WiFi/ethernet and USB are all disabled in my Devialet. I might try the microRendu one day directly connected to Devialet's USB input though but it has no priority and I don't expect it to be better.

Even if the microRendu doesn't sound better than my current solution but at least as good I'll keep it and remove the PC/HD Plex PSU etc. from the system. It'll then be:

Upstairs (office) DIY NAS PC -> CAT6 -> Netgear switch -> FMC -> fiber optic cable -> FMC -> CAT6 -> microRendu -> Curious USB cable (0,2m) -> Mutec MC-3+ USB -> DH Labs AES/EBU -> Devialet.

Maybe a stupid question but does the Mutec work without a driver installed on the USB for say a microRendu? Thougt I saw someone write that it needs a driver on the computer it is connected to but I might be wrong. 

What DC volt is it inside the Mutec? I have seen both 6 and 6,3V. I was thinking of geting a PSU with dual rails one for microRendu and one spare to use with perhaps a Mutec if that is a good solution.

Yes, I'm sure it'll work. The Mutec MC-3+ USB uses an XMOS chipset just like our Devialets do. The XMOS line are USB audio class 2 (UAC2) compliant. Drivers are only required for operating systems that don't natively support UAC2, like Windows. Mac or Linux based devices don't require a driver. The microRendu is Linux based and has UAC2 support built in and supports the XMOS line.

People who've measured and shared their findings have measured 6.2V and 6.3V. I know Gentleman once wrote he uses a 6.0V supply to succesfully power the Mutec. I've asked Paul Hynes to configure the rail destined for my Mutec to be set to 6.2V but will also measure the output before connecting. The Mutec needs to be modified inside, one could either remove the current SMPS PSU or solder the supply wires directly to the board. I haven't decided yet. Ok, is the rails in your PSU adjustable? It would be nice to have something like 3-12VDC range so it fits many different things.

My microRendu has arrived to Sweden and is in customs right now, hopfully it will pass without any extra charges.

I know I remembered that you already had mentioned that......do you know if this is possible in all of his supplys to get them adjustable?

Rail 1: 3.3-12V @ 2.9-8A for my 'unknown future application', initially set to 9V
Rail 2: 5-12V @ 2A for the microRendu, initially set to 7V
Rail 3: 3.3-12V @ 2A for the DSpeaker Anti-Mode, initially set to 12V
Rail 4: 3.3-12V @ 2A for the Mutec, initially set to 6.2V

Another day of anticipation of actually receiving some sort of notification to be able to pay a customs charge and move on from 'awaiting customs clearance'.... Very frustrating, especially as I'm getting very tight on time, and want to have a few days to try this out before i get really busy....

Meanwhile, any more feedback on uRendu's that are all nicely settled in?

My microRendu cleard customs today and is on the way from Stockholm to me right now. Perhaps it will arrive tomorrow, I dont know if there will be any tax and custom fee.

Nice! In the UK we (mostly) have to pay the fee after it leaving customs otherwise it gets held at the depot. As mine's been stuck on 'clearing customs' a few days now, that probably means the inevitable letter arriving to tell me I need to pay before they'll deliver. Why they can't let you know on the tracking system or by email so you can just pay straight away I'm not sure... Still, its surely only a few days away....

By that time I should know if its going to be totally redundant due to AIR3

AIR 3 is Mac only at the moment, I suggest you sell your microRendu fast to a long suffering Windows AIR user .......
