TV Out Optical Question
#1
Right now I'm using a hdmi switcher with a audio extractor that goes into the speaker.  I'm considering switching this so it goes through the tv.  So all my HDMI cables plug into the TV and then I use optical out to extract audio.  Any issues or downgrade in quality with this approach before I embark on this?

I imagine that there might be a drop off in SQ, but I use an optical link between my TV and D and think the sound is excellent. You should find it easy enough to do an A/B comparison.

With my Sony TV, the volume control has no effect on the optical output, therefore I turn the volume right down so that there is no sound coming from the TV speakers. Other makes of TV might be different, but I doubt it somehow.

Alex.
