UPnP Sound Quality
#31
With my Phantom Golds, found that Roon Air is not as good as Upnp, less body, narrower sound stage, less airy.

To conclude the UPnP/DSP thing... I eventually found that J.River CAN apply DSP to DLNA streams.

It's buried deeply under the advanced "Configure DLNA servers" (or Services?) settings. However, this is limited to when you are streaming as "LPCM/24bit/44KHz"... which is OK for my (95% majority) 44.1KHz standard files, but not my hi-def audio-philes.

It is my belief that DLNA only caters for >44KHz when the stream is (re-)packaged as FLAC.
