Upgrading C7 power cord upgrade phantom 2
#1
Hello everyone,

I own a pair of devialet phantom 2 speakers and I want to upgrade my power cords. So I bought a pair of nice Audioquest NRG Y2 cables and all looked well. Once they arrived I quickly came to the conclusion that there was a problem, the cables wouldn’t fit due to the shape of the speaker the block directly behind the C7 adapter is to big... the standard power cord have a IEC C7 connector, but these are very  flat.
The question is : does anyone know how to connect my new power cord to the speaker or does anyone Own an upgraded power cord that will fit the phantom 2 .

Thanks for the help!

Greetings

Stan

Have a look at: Oyaide L/i15 EMX V2

The adapter should be okay, I am buying a pair and will tell you the result then

The head of the Oyaide is also thicker than expected, I may need to order a DIY head...

I use the Nordost Purple Flare - https://www.nordost.com/leif/purple-flar...r-cord.php. I just need to trim off the black cable wrap around the C7 and it fits nicely.

Would you guys recommend doing this upgrade?

Thinking of getting a pair of Audioquest NRG-X2 which by the looks of it should fit just fine. Will attach a photo below.

The Nordost cables would be a dream but at a fifth of the price of the Phantoms that’s out of my budget.

Elnézést, végül megvetted a kábelt? Sajnos a
Az Audioquest NRG-Z2 nem passzolt, de álom lett volna...
Mi a helyzet a
AudioQuest NRG-X2? Most bedughatom?

No.

The power comes from a a power station, which will be far away for most people, along the way it passes through many kilometres of cables, copper, aluminium, whatever, plus substations and local step down etc.

In the street it's probably on old coper, in the house it'll probably be on copper of similar age to the structure, passing through isolators, company fuses, internal distribution, metering, consumer unit, an finally some twin and earth to the power socket.

Pretty much all of it designed and manufactured to meet specification at lowest cost.

If such product was good enough to get the power to the socket, it'll do the job from the socket to the Phantom.

Spend the money on some good wine to enjoy while listening to music.
