Unnecessary obsolescence or restrictions on the Expert line, simply by deciding not to develop the software for it any more.
Not forgetting the promise of CI to address future capability requirements of streaming. Sure I get it, it’s unreasonable to expect a company to support its products with further development once its been superseded.
But I think if the Expert had all the streaming functions of modern units, it would add both monetary and enhanced usability, which would improve the perception of the brand in the market. A final hurrah to current and future Expert users.
In reality however, my 440 Pro CI sounds as good today as it did yesterday. A Roon subscription overcomes some short comings with the integration. I’m not the target customer for Astra anyhow, I don’t spend that sort of money on audio components.
I too, received the survey and expressed why I wouldn’t buy another Devialet product again in the future.
