Haha! Right! I almost jumped through the ceiling a few times when the noise kicked when playing loud music.

I'm only concerned when I'm playing higher than 24/96 bitrates music. I can stream Spotify Premium, Tidal Hifi and all 24/96 music all day without having any worries at all. For the record, playing 24/192 and DSD64 music via AIR since Win10 has maybe 1 time of white noises after playing for more than 3 hours in my current setup.

For Spotify and Tidal, I can even stream them all day from my Atom-based CPU, Win10 2GB RAM tablet using AIR-wifi to my Le200 with zero dropouts, white noises or stutterings.

I still experienced occasionally blasts of white noise every second day ( I do have a healthy mix of DSD and high resolution files ), and I started getting the darn system reboot on its own.

So while as much as I enjoyed running Windows 10 and AIR, at this time, for the sake of my sanity, I have reverted to USB at this point.

Sorry to hear that. Yes, it can be stressful never know when the next blast of white noise will occur. If you don't mind having a USB connection to your Devialet, you will have a lesser anxiety and just enjoying your music more.

I may go for the RoonReady streamer over a couple of months when things are settling down more.

@sasoum - Check your volume settings in JRIVER.

Something like Tools->Options->Volume

What is it set to?

Try Disable Volume.

Disabled Volume

Disabled Volume disables any volume controls. This mode is useful if you send audio to an external device with a hardware volume, and you want to avoid the complexity of two volumes.

Thanks HK.  For the record, I switched back to 2.1.3 on Sunday morning.  I think I played 16/44 material for something between 2 & 3 hours on Sunday, AIR worked perfectly.  With 2.1.4beta-4 there was much stuttering Saturday.  So 2.1.3 with Windows 10 does look promising, time will tell though, AIR issues appear to manifest themselves very randomly, I can think of times I have had many hours stutter free with 2.1.4beta4, so time will tell with back 2.1.3.  Oddly enough, I did try going back to 2.1.3 when running Windows 8.1 and got lots of stuttering, this is why I haven't bothered trying with Windows 10.  Maybe this will prove to be stable, I'm ever the optimist!

As an update, I have done very many hours listening since switching back to 2.1.3 earlier in the month, no white noise, and vertically zero stuttering or anything else.  To be honest, the vast majority of listening at 16/44, but there has been the occasional 24bit track, plus a brief experiment with MQA.  All good!

Yes, if you are just listening to 16/44.1 music, Win10 + AIR 2.1.3 will work perfectly with zero white noise and stuttering.
