Well it seems to sound good, and nothing's blown up!

That might be a work around for the USB port on El Capitan not always connecting? Although I haven't had that problem I do get the occasional crackle. Stop and start a song and it's gone but maybe this can help. Time will tell.
It's indeed a new function in theconfigurator. Just hover over any option to see what it does, in this case:

"ON (per default)
Always performs a bus negociation between the amp and the computer when the USB input is selected. Allows simple workaround for many power managed mode on computers and prevents rebooting the computer in case bad negociation occurs.

OFF
Negociation is performed only once when the amp starts."
Been listening a while with new firmware. Not certain it sounds different than previous version i.e. it sounds fine
There's only changes in the IHM firmware file compared to 8.1.3. All other firmware files haven't been touched.

No, it wasn't there before.  (Coincidentally I re-did a configuration over the week-end and noticed this change when I ran diff over the old and new config files.)
I can't hear any noticable differences - still sounds great across a broad range of tunes. I always think new upgrades sound a bit better, but that's down to 1) my internal bias, 2) more volume, 3) favourite tunes and 4) listening harder.

I've not had any issues with Air etc, so can't comment on whether this is fixed or not.

Seems like this 9.0.1 is a minor update to bring it up to the same level as Atelier. It should really be a point release IMO, but I can understand why they wanted to release Atelier with a sexy sounding software version.

Anybody knows...what is ,,IHM file" responsible for?

I think it stands for interactions homme-machine (or interface homme-machine) so might be the front panel GUI display? Or possibly the control mechanism, remote etc.

Yep. That's what Google says interface homme-machine translation English | French ...
