1. More detailed sound (on TV sound live classical broadcasting)
2. I turned back the highs: from + 2.5 dB to + 1.5 dB at 8 kHz. (To compensate the frequency curve of the Quad ESL 2812)
3. Since wednesday last week (april 19th)  I own the Samsung S8 smartphone with 256 GB in it and self recorded Clearaudio records 192-24 on it. Suddenly, yesterdayevening it played the music again via the Devialet app (play store) straight through the router into the Ethernet entrance. Sounds beautifully.

Not sensational but happy with it.
Ifyou twiddle the knobs yourself you can hardly be surprised that you can change the output. If Devialet had attempted to enhance the quality of output don't you think they would have trumpeted that as a reason for performing the upgrade?
So, as I'm not the only one hearing a profound progress in sound towards more naturalness/dynamics/precission (w/ 10.1.0) and thinking that Devialet isn't reading everything on this forum...

...should we give them a hint on the sonical improvement/outcome of the 10.1.0 update and gently advise them to pass a positive feedback to their engineers? (can't believe I said that  Blush )

I know I'm one of the first to be nasty about Devialet but if we want better communication with them...maybe, just maybe...we should commend them at a time they've done something quiet right and draw their attention to a positive impact of their work they've no clue of ?!

I don't think it would help if only one or two of us directly respond to them.
So how to do it best to get the attention of the right person in their staff???

Just a consideration in light of this 'upgrade'. Do you think that as part of the illusory streaming board that Devialet might eliminate the need to use the SD, which is to my mind almost as pathetic as still using floppy disks to update a computer's operating system? Every piece of hardware I own from my television, my AV amp, my Naim Muso, my B&W A7 all do firmware updates directly from the internet. The SD is so 1980s.

Anyone attempting to say it is anything to do with sound quality will deserve the contempt they deserve. If it is for storing 'different configurations' then there is no reason why Devialet could not host that service themselves. Unless, of course, their own servers are in a bit of a state.
Let's hope so.

They wouldn't need to be held on their servers, they could be on internal storage.

The only advantage the SD card system holds (and I'm not a fan at all) is that Devialet can't mess with your system without your cooperation. If they went to online updates, we have to pray they don't force them on us like poor Phantom users. But then they wouldn't do that on the 'Pro' models would they as it could affect all the businesses that use them professionally. Wink

I also have updated the firmware of course, but I also updated Windows to the new Creators Update and I also have used the new game mode for foobar. Also one of my Devialets was for repair and came back with fw 10.0.7 while my second unit was still on 10.0.5.
So I'm not exactly sure why it is sounding better, but I have the best SQ I ever had since some days...

I tend to agree with Bruno, yabaVR and Vivialet; 10.1.0 sounds different. In my system I've had to trim down the bass EQ I'm using to have the balance I like. The whole sound is warmer, but I also suspect 10.1.0 is different on Pro and non Pro hardware. I have only listened about an hour after upgrade so I must listen more this evening. Surprising given the "minor bug fix" release note from Devialet!
Ok...24h of 'burn in' of the new 10.1.0...this update is like a centerstone in my modded D200...a handmade suit...it just fits in.

I've to pull up a bit...but it seems that 10.1.0 just kicks in the multiple mods I made earlier. The increase of transparency/timing/homogeneity/dynamic/3D mapping is simply terrific.
I can only imagine that others are not so enthusiastic due to the multiple 'bottlenecks' Devialet 'designed' into the Experts. Mine is now a stallion let loose...ok I stop it here  Tongue  Just taken by the improvement.

Crystal clear and all the life and warmth is gone. Same deal as with the last few firmwares.
Fatigue within a few minutes playing some edgy tracks that I tolerate with fw 7.1.3.
Back to 7.1.3!!
Is there consensus on the new firmware 10.1.0 and use on the 200 - since that is what a lot of us own?

I have not upgraded firmware yet, but am considering.

Do you stream from a dedicated audio pc or is it also your working machine?

There's to be some cause for your fatigue that is not firmware related, because here are some guys having highly transparent/resolving systems and I can say at least for my system that 10.1.0 gives me the extrem opposite of what you're experiencing...performs very live and natural...pulls me right into the music and prevents me from zapping through my library. If I can be of any help you're welcome.

It all depends on the fact if you have a 'jittery' problem in your audio system or not. 10.1.0 is definitely very open and transparent and therefore can be easily disturbed by any outer source that brings a large amount of jitter into the signal path. Anyway if you are happy with your system now and have no digital sound issues you will be happy with the update...if it's not for you it's just 2min to get back to your old version.
