If the AIR driver is installed it shows this as well, so you have the choice between the Devialet AIR driver and the Roon AIR implementation. If you uninstall the Devialet AIR driver it will disappear from the list.

(07-May-2018, 19:42)sdn660 Wrote: [ -> ]Saturday I upgraded my D220 from beta12 to beta14.
After the upgrade AIR was not working anymore.
Installing other FW versions did not solve the problems.

Yesterday I send an email to Devialet to report the issues and ask for advice.
This morning Mathieu from Devialet mailed me.
"..... DOS can be sensitive to the controller inside the sdcard used during the upgrade. I advice to reattempt an upgrade using another sdcard.
Upgrading DOS should last between 2'30 and 5'00 minutes, no more. ...."

It worked. By using another sdcard upgrading went smooth and most issues were solved.

One issue I still have is the amp running at high temperature. The D220 warms up to 51 °C without playing.
My D200 operated at significant lower temperature, max ~ 42°C.

Is operating temperature of D220 higher than D200? I think 51 °C is pretty hot.

Any ideas on the subject?

Thanks,
Simon

I never have these high temps on my 1000pro, but the case can dissipate more heat than the 220. But even 51° is not much for an amp. Pure class-A or tube amps have much more...
Maybe you can change the placement. Hangin on a wall works better than standing in a rack...

Hi Vivialet,

Yes, .. I owned a poweramp with EL34 pure Class A .. If I remember well output was less than 1 Watt .. long time ago.

I own my 220 a few days now and I didn't notice the high temperature before the upgrade.
I am wondering if the high temperature was due to the beta14 firmware.

i'll just go back to DOS 2.1.0  fw12.1.2 to find out.

I just read the thread about PRO temperatures https://devialetchat.com/showthread.php?...emperature . Reported temperatures vary significantly.

Thanks for your input!
Just checked, temperature seems really higher with beta14 here
Beta 14 here and I have:

A amp @ 39c
D amp @ 39c
Supply amp @ 47c

It been 28c today in London and is currently 20c
sounds pretty normal to me...I have also around 42° in average. Maybe more now...
Can someone tell me the following? With the newest Beta version of the firmware, is there a regression where DSD64 files do not play back properly?

I am using Roon with its built-in AIR support.

Thanks.

I've had a few occasions where music was dropping out with the new Roon 1.5 release and converting to DSD 64. I'm not saying that's your problem but keep it in mind. It's too late now to check but it could well have been because Roon now puts all of the same albums under one cover so I would guess it's working in the background on the library, taking processor power, which can also cause dropouts.
Thanks, actually I have not installed the latest firmware yet. I skipped the last version due to the regressions, so I am two versions back. I will install the latest firmware version if there is not a regression with DSD64 playback (someone reported they get white noise).

I currently can playback CD quality, high resolution and DSD64 files reliably and have not had any dropouts in over a year. I am using an ethernet connection to the Devialet. No issues with Roon at all. No issues with anything.

I would like to upgrade to get to the current version of the firmware if it doesn't introduce any regressions into audio playback. Currently, that is only via a NUC running Roon ROCK. The turntable is on hold for a month due to some system changes.

Thanks and apologies for being less than clear.

Hi baddog. Like you I have been using the beta12 because of issues with the Release Candidate. Yesterday I downloaded the beta 14 and all seems to be working fine - no issues with DSD64. Again, like you, I primarily use a  NUC running Roon ROCK.
No issues with Beta 14, on any level. For me this works as good as any official release.
