So maybe we can all relax about the streamerboard functionality and software control.

Ha!

I missed Bluetooth. Possibly Airplay will be in the mix too.

The two things we really want......never mind stuff that actually would have made Devialet stand out a bit.

So Devialet OS will power both Expert and Phantom.

This means integration of Expert and Phantom units in a MCH or home cinema context, streaming from Spotify , Tidal etc without the need for a computer and the ability to pull music files from any server connected to the network (i.e. UPnP/DLNA).

Roon and MQA: forget it. Ain't gonna happen folks.

I imagine most of this would happen over ethernet or wifi so I don't see a fancy new USB interface being in the works.

What will be interesting to see is what the impact of a computer in an already very crowded chassis will be on sound quality, assuming that this will need to share the same power supply as everything else.

From my perspective if this means streaming from Qobuz using my iPhone to select tracks and play I'll be happy. I'll continue using my very capable d1 server as my Roon Ready endpoint connected to the Devialet via AES which is the best input after all.

Guillaume

Agree with Guillaume. I can't imagine Devialet would do the streaming interface differently between expert and phantom. This means, until we see upnp available on phantom via dialog, the streamerboard won't be ready anytime soon. If my memory is correct (please correct me), i remembered Dialog already has a 1.9Mhz cpu which should powerful enough for managing a simple OS with upnp/dlna. It has been 2+ years that Devialet has been working on this, who knows how much longer the wait would be. I will be pressing my dealer in HK if I don't hear any update by Munich show. The delivery of the streamer board delivering in mid 2017 is part of what I paid for my 200 upgrade to 220pro.

The latest I am hearing is September or October with the O d'A owners getting the new board first.

It would be a big disappointment if it would not be Roon Ready.

I think you can forget Roon as they will never turn to another company to make a streaming function that actually works when they have been working on Spark and AIR for so long. I dont see Devialet doing that as it would be a failure and Devialet seems to see them as the leader in most of what they do and perhaps a bit arrogant.....

I wonder what they will come up with to keep us that upgraded to PRO happy.....I have a dealer that will trade in my 440 and I am not far from doing that and buy from a company that treats it's customers the right way.

I sent a email to the company that I am intrested in an perhaps an hour later a person from their R&D department answered my questions that is how support should work.

Sorry to be blunt be I really don't understand why people still allow themselves to be victimized by this company. Many of you have known the company for years and it could/should be clear by now they don't change.

Why would you buy (or wait for) anything based on promises from this company that never delivers on time or communicate about anything? Thus far they -completely suck- at software too so unless your standards are quite low (agentsmith are clearly anything but) you'll not be happy anytime soon with anything they deliver. Perhaps in a few years after several iterations. As long as they insist on developing anything themselves from scratch it'll always be a catching up game. Other parties are moving much faster and doing a much better job as specialists. Would be nice if Devialet would partner up with those companies but why wait for anything uncertain to happen. Please, just move on, there's so much more great stuff out there. Why do we keep rewarding them, with our money, if they don't deliver, listen or change?

To conclude I am very happy with my new stance: I don't expect anything from Devialet and only evaluate at the moment they actually deliver something concrete whether I'd like to use what they delivered.

You are right on that they will never change many still hope they will but I dont see that happening as most of their promises they made have either been delayed or not come true.....

Any intimation whether they will require the units sent back to the factory?  Some rumours have it that we will be boxing them up and sending to UPS one more time.
Reading through this thread it seems quite clear that a simple emailed update from someone within Devialet and with some authority offering a description of the work underway would yield much good will.
The update to the Pro line was so significant that I expect they will produce something of great interest.  It isn't the timeline I object to, rather the total lack of communication.

I'm pretty sure the PRO units won't need to go back to the factory and will be a much simpler dealer instal. Would be crazy if they did, imagine all the additional costs for Devialet.

It's a bit different for the O d'As since they will be upgraded to 6.0 internals and new copper heat sink plate at the same time.

What Devialet have said in writing is UPnP and Bluetooth and integration with Phantom. I believe this is what they will deliver. Anything more will be a bonus but don't count on it.
