So what? Expert is still a great unit. I have a Pass Labs power amp, the latest model. Shall I write to the factory to stop with new inventions and models? Or as soon as the new model appears sell my amp and purchase a new one? The situation for Devialet is not bright: doing nothing, no updates, and no upgrades on the Expert line leads to higher sales of used Expert units. Take a look at the Hi-Fi Shark and you will see more and more Experts on sale and prices are going down. One Italian put his Expert Pro 220 CI for 2.400 euros and it is 2 months on sale, and still available. Another German one published his 440 CI for 5.999 Euros (and it is negotiable) - a month on hi-fi shark and still available. So, no worries about your unit, it will keep the price better if Deviealet doesn't give up on the Expert line.
Well, I, as an Expert owner, am not at all happy with the fact that the bugs in the configurator and firmware will remain forever, nor with the fact that the second-hand price will drop dramatically if a new amplifier model appears.
Yes, I see your point and agree. But current version is still strong and great, just go to Audiogon and you will see that Devialet is still rated as great high-end unit, what I think as well
