What you hear should only be applicable to one channel, the one that does not have the input directly but through the link cable.
That's very strange what you're saying,as it means DEVIALET as a company designed these didn't wanted left and right channel sounds different, we're they?
Anyway from myself I can only confirm the better linking cable ,the better sound quality (without any obvious imbalance) between left and right channel I can hear.
