if you convert PCM to DSD you loose 6db volume, and the Devialet converts it back to PCM. For the same volume as with PCM you have to turn the volume up by 6db.
If your source is 16 or 24 bit the result will not have a bigger resolution as long as you are not using a good upsampler like HQPlayer.
Using the DSD option only makes sense if you have original DSD files. Otherwise you introduce two format changes which is never good...
I tried all these options for PCM files and keeping PCM was always the best option.
