(06-Aug-2015, 22:20)Actually i disagree. There is a marked improvement in picture and sound on my panasonic vt55 tv set and oppo 105 too. There is a serious improvement in sound from the devialet. I was unable to process packet data efficiently previously with old hub. Back in the day I built radio aerials for fm radios and the difference in sound was never questioned as obvious. Wifi is just a radio frequency. This router transmits stronger signals. The advantages of going wireless to the devialet is well documented by devialet so won\t bore you with materials used etc. I am listening to old recordings and utterly bewitched by detail and soundstage. Ive been a high end cable supporter all my life and no cable is better? Utterly stunned! Wrote:(06-Aug-2015, 17:47)Confused Wrote: A question for the IT wizards.......
I note that routers like this include a fair bit of processing power & memory, e.g. dual core 1GHz processor, 256MB RAM . So apart for the obvious improvement in wifi performance, could they actually be doing anything else that might improve the performance of AIR, even if connected by hard wired Ethernet?
I would say no as most of this computing power is for VPN and other specialist functions like that.
