Phantom Reactors and Lag
#4
Well. Direct Optical Mode is essentially latency free. It’s been used as live monitors, and for live playback/performances at various clubs and venues. It’s low enough to be used with a live microphone.

But yes, to get them in stereo or surround you’ll need a way to split to optical signal which is a hassle.

Reactor still has latency and it is not near as close to the Direct Optical Mode. It’s bearable. You could watch TV or movies and not perceive it unless you really tired. But as a live monitor of some sort it would be bad.

If you use two Reactors in stereo I believe the latency will increase. As it does with two standard Phantom, although mostly when using Dialogue as it does initial processing before sending the signal to each Phantom to then have a final process through the SAM module.
