My humble setup is Devialet 120 with Salk speakers ( Silk Tower). Devialet firmware I am using is 7.1.3.
I used to play songs from Tidal or local flac/wav files. While playing I used to connect my laptop with ethernet cable ( disable wifi assuming that it will reduce noise) and I use a Cat6 ethernet cable from router to Devialet 120.
While playing from Tidal with some songs there was crackling sound and I stopped using this method
I use to play from Oppo using spdif connection to Devialet and it worked well but felt sound quality is not up to mark especially while using Tidal

Now to solve this issue I was thinking of getting Roon and install Roon core on my laptop ( I dont use it for any other purpose) and use Ethernet connection to Devialet 120 from router.Will this help in fixing crackling issue and have good sound quality?
I read little bit about Roon's implementation of Devialet AIR
Another question I have is does quality of the machine where roon (core) is installed matter lot or depends only on Devialets roon endpoint implementation? Now my Devialet looks like old and I dont see expert models on Devialet website anymore. I assume they dont provide new firmware for Expert models.
