The only TT maker with the resource to make state of the art direct drive motors these days is Technics.
Belt drive is compromised but most makers have no choice because they have to buy the motors available to them. Having written that I do use a belt drive myself mainly, but it is an old one from before a good direct drive motor was available.
This is a good turntable from a specialist IME, this page is the UK distributor.
