Edit: It could be that the 2018 model has an older chipset with ADH, not ADH-2, and therefore consumes more power. Did you buy both speakers at the same time?
I bought the 2018 model first about 10 days ago. The second one arrived three days ago. (I tested the first one, liked the sound and had to get a second one...).
I will get in contact with support. Let's see what they can do.
