D800 is 2x D250 afaik, so the former generation expert (which i would love to listen to at home, btw).
For a quick test -in case you have an Android mobile/tablet/etc. - i suggest to test/buy UAPP app for Android (a few bucks only), connect it via USB (OTG) cable to D800 master (?) and judge the result of Tidal/Qobuz streaming (cannot stream Spotify this way!):

I'm using this app on an Android media player with internal HDD for streaming the complete music lib to D200 via USB, but i never tried the Qobuz streaming service via UAPP (see also the forum threads at extreamsd).
Anyway, you should get bit exact USB transmission by a battery powered hardware source device with all the comfort of modern technology. Paid once, updates for years now, usage on any owned Android device ... i really liked the idea.
