Hey all.
Just took my new 108s for a spin this week at a party. Was pretty excited. Played house music and techno for 4+ hours with almost always 80 or above on the volume. Stereo pair. At first they sounded great, but eventually they couldn’t handle the volume. They started to decrease in output, and the bass started making weird pounding noises, almost as if someone was banging against the wall. I think I may have blown one or both of them. I did find one of the speakers to have the front clip around the tweeter blown off.
Has anyone had experience reaching the limit of these things? Should I expect to not use these things at parties and use regular PAs instead? Not sure if it matters but output was via RCA to Digital converter (and optical in).
