It works perfectly, everything is connected by Ethernet but having read some of the posts here am I right in thinking that I can bypass the Aries and stream directly to the D200?
If this is the case could somebody possibly give some tips to get it going. When I check audio zones I can see the Aries which I use, but in the box above it mentions core output "wasapi" but I can't see any mention of Devialet. What am I missing here. Many thanks.
Hello Misterpete.
In theory, yes you could, but you would have to use either a USB cable from your NUC to the D200, or the dreaded Devialet AIR.
For the pros and cons of either one, have a look at the respective threads in this forum. Many folk, including myself, could never get AIR to be reliable, and most folk feel that USB directly from a PC into the Dev lacks some SQ.
Hope that helps a little
Using "the dreaded" AIR (when it worked) sounded pretty damn good. But for many, the term "dreaded" is well deserved. It was never stable for me. But for some it is, so it may be worth giving it a shot. You run AIR on your Intel NUC and enable ethernet on your Devialet. I'd strongly recommend ethernet over wifi.
I gave up on AIR and bought a Sonore uRendu... basically Roon -> ethernet -> uRendu -> USB -> Devialet. Works wonderfully well for me and sounds amazing - even better than AIR when it worked.
