I'm not sure how you would ideally like to use it. I have a vortexbox player. When I use the phantoms I usually control it via Spark on a mac mini, but I can configure spark to see the files on the vortexbox.
However the Mac mini does need to be running to do that.
There are a couple of other options though. You could just use bluetooth if you can control your vortexbox from a phone or similar. Or, again with the phone, you could use a device like apple airport express with an optical output. Stream the files to that then use the optical input on the dialog.
Also, if you can connect the vortexbox to the dialog, you could use something like a Ifi I-link to convert from usb to optical and again, play like that.
