Haha, well, yeah I don't disagree, and don't really use it myself anymore. Personally I find Twitter and most social media quite similar (except maybe linkedin which has somehow stayed more relevant and slightly less 'me, me, me, me again eating my breakfast')
But its what companies care about because of the volume of people that do use it, making it much harder to ignore. It's much more embarrassing when corporate shareholders become aware of angry postings.
The key to twitter is follow companies or professional people only. If you start following friends, celebrities or morons like me it's probably no different than Facebook.
