It will never be a paperweight — which is the same case as with most amplifiers in the market that cannot be upgraded in any way.Yep, LBameule, you are absolutely correct, however, the consumer market being what it is, the latest spec will always be the driver, both for the seller and the buyer. Buying into a very acceptable but not upgraded version will likely see a dive in second hand price ask/pay.
Just my trying to get this in perspective...
Cheers!

I happily feel a little conceited that I upgraded my 120 to 220 Pro (and then C/I) reacting to all the Devialet prompts as they were published. Looking at the latest published upgrade options and associated prices, doing it at the time as originally advertised has for me, been the most affective and affordable course to follow.
This especially as it gave me a most attractive item to offer for sale secondhand. I sold it with little advertising hassle for a nice price, or at least one acceptable to me and the buyer. Likelihood is, without the upgrades in place, this sale would never have happened. The sale allowed me to move on and purchase a 250 Pro C/I in replacement which has completely satisfied my ears. What’s not to like?
