Yes you are right on having FCS but even if you don't have corropted packages, there is no way to gurantee the order of the packages that unit receives are correct. While having this as an issue if you also start to have drops because of the corruption, then ordering the sequence numbers will be quite complex. Because as the FCS is correct, in the low level you won't fail but when you reach to the application layer, you will have to check the sequence and request the dropped ones and reorder them again. I am not saying it is impossible to have but why do you want a solution like this in your application? And what happens if somehow you lost the buffer or what is the chunks size you feed the player in the unit? What is implemented to check the integrity of the chunks. I am not fighting or trying to prove anything here but having UDP for bitperfect streaming and high quality playback sounds super hard for me. (Maybe I am not enough talented to design the solution, that's aslo fine)
