I was an early adopter, bought the D-Premier which became the D250 PRO after 2 factory upgrades over the years. I probably have invested more than I should with the upgrades instead of just trading it in for the latest model, but no regrets. Devialet has some issues just like any companies and I'm a bit concern with their focus shifted to wireless speakers; however, I still love my Devialet and won't trade it for anything else. Customer supports for Expert is still good from my recent experience. I recently migrated to Roon Nucleus+ from Meridian Sooloos. Roon and the Roon Ready D250 PRO is a great combination, the only feature missing is MQA support for Tidal.
It's hard for small audio companies to keep up with firmware updates when they have to comply with big tech's hardware and OS changes. I've been using Meridian and invested a lot of money in the Sooloos ecosystem. Meridian is a much bigger and older company than Devialet, but they finally threw in the towels and stopped supporting Sooloos last year as they couldn't maintain their software to keep up with Apple and Microsoft. Meridian is a shadow of it's former self. They also need to license their technology to LG for soundbars and try to get in the automotive market to stay alive. I believe Devialet is also trying to get in the auto market but so far without much success. It's unfortunate that majority of today's consumers prefer headphones, wireless speakers and soundbars.
