The D240 Expert that I bought in 2013 (so quite an early "Expert" model) was most definitely dark chrome.
So unless I am very much mistaken, it looks like the light chrome finish was for the D-Premier only.
Plus, and for the record @Laura is absolutely right, the D240 and D250 are physically the same thing, the only difference is the later firmware. So in other words, I bought a D240, with a firmware update it became a D250. Later Experts that were D250 from new also had the same dark chrome finish.
