Try increasing gain as @ragwo suggests and keep an eye on the Clipping LED. Also make sure the cartridge loading is 47KΩ. An MM cart with too low (MC) resistive loading will sound muffled. Does the Record Level knob change any of this?
Hi @ogs thx for your reply! I have tried to tinker with all settings from the preamp :-) nothing makes it better. To your question, although Rega is not the best at documenting how to set up preamps with their cartridge, the exact 2 loading is supposed to be 47KΩ.
