Pretty sure this is fixed now after the recent update
Didn't test for long but it was quite frequent and obvious for me so think it's all good now
Can confirm hissing/scratching noise is still present. Very disappointing.

Post 108 the "crackling" is now far less frequent and nearly silent... may indicate some progress, but not resolved.

Agreed - watched a film last night and I would say slightly less frequent and obviously quieter but not enough for it not to be distracting.
There were crickets in some of the film so I just pretended it was them

Since last version, I do not have cracking sound again, but I have some silent sound in replacement.
I think the problem is not resolved, but the devialet team has replaced crackling sound by silent sound for me.
I have a silent during 0.3s average every 4 minutes on average, something like that.
Someone has the same problem like me ?

... in my set-up the silent period is very infrequent, 1-2 @ 500ms per hour. Agree it's likely Devialet tech partial fix for "crackling".

I've submitted a bug report today too. I was hoping they would finally fix this but am still having optical input problems into the Dialog on latest software/firmware. Have plugged a long optical lead into a Phantom and everything works fine through there, no cracking no gaps or blips.
Annoying as I want to use the Dialog optical input so that it is all neat and tidy in hifi rack with minimal cables!
Also my dialog gets _really_hot as in cant touch the heatsink for longer than 5 seconds. Worrying.

Almost 2 years later - is this fixed now?
When this all started, I moved the optial input to one of the Phantoms and it's been playing well.
Now, I'm rearranging things and I'd like to move the input back to the Dialog.
But before I go through the trouble of doing this (it involves some work), I'd like to know if the problem is fixed. If it isn't I'll keep the setup the way it is.
Cheers

Keep it as it is. Crackling on the optical input of Dialog is still the same and it also only accepts 24/96k not like the Phantoms that work crackling free up to 24/192k.
