Very interesting.  Wonder how much better the 440 would be, versus the 400...

Welcome to the forum Jan! A bit of a false start but who cares.  Smile

Hello,

The D200 is an excellent amp and allowed me to sit behind the console in a recording studio. At a certain point, it was exactly what I had been looking for as a reformed amateur guitar player listening to records involving a great amount of production.
Nowadays I mostly listen to classical music and jazz and some rock staples of my library (Rory Gallagher, Simon Phillips, Michael Landau, Steve Lukather, Jeff Beck, Steven Wilson, to name a few).

The very costly upgrade program disappointed me a lot (to say the least), and considering the difficulties mentioned by members of this forum for Devialet to solve existing issues in a reasonable delay, I thought the CI board would probably stay in a beta version for quite some time. Besides, the CI board announcement made my D200 obsolete hence highly devaluated on the second hand market. To my opinion, it was too expensive to take the bet.

Considering that my aspirations were moving from the recording room to the concert hall, I made an appointment with a hifi dealer and listened for an hour to a Diablo 300 fed by an Aurender streaming Qobuz files through a Lampizator Amber 3 dac. The speakers were T&T Nel ultime. The Exequien by Schutz moved me a lot that day !

So Yesterday night, The Diablo came into our living room.

I am not a specialist but I would like to thank everyone on this forum for the expertise, the wise advice, the unreasonable quest for the Grail, and for the always respectful and « well tempered » tone of the posts.

I wish you many hours of enjoyment with your new system, which I’m sure you will get.

Your speakers are perfect for the kind of music you are listening, as I can testify by owning the little sisters of your Edenas: the Armonias.
