So it is so hard to hire a good one in Europe.

Also he told me that in next Year there will be a new firmware with sth new and ,,big". For this Year maybe there will be a firmware update with minor changes.

Maybe they should look for people that use their ears instead! The B&W system i  heard Warsaw was not bad but it also clearly told me why I moved on from Devialet.

You who visited Munich this spring may remember the comment that they ever use their ears in development, time for a change perhaps...

IMO connecting B&W with Devialet is just a stupid decision...

Polish distributor of Devialet is also a B&W distributor. Unfortunately...

For example...Devialet with some Sonus Faber loudspeakers (Elipsa, Stradivari, Guarneri Evolution) offers very musical and transparent sound.

I am pretty sure SF (I am no fan of B&W) would have helped a bit but as to my ears the backbone in musicality that Dev had from the beginning is not really there any longer, for me at least, hence I moved on.
I love the form factor and the technology but engineers should be let on holiday from time to time and let some ears take charge. Compare this to make a car, after all engineering is done, real people drive them to find flaws and to reach some kind of perfection, we are still analogue as humans.
I though Dev was my lonely island system but then some clever engineering plus ears made product showed up...

With amps like Devialet though, because they are made to power all speakers -- unlike SETs for example -- their approach seems very sensible to me. They wouldn't want to engineer the sound for a particular speaker or group of speakers. The analogy of the car doesn't quite work, that's more like a specific amp speaker combo. I wonder too how much your preference for the Aavik is connected with your speakers (and your particular sound preferences). I'm sure the Aavik does sound better with the Raidho, but that's not very surprising.

Point taken Aaron about the Raidho and Aavik kin background ie M Borresen, however after hearing Dev and Aavik side by side with speakers like Sonus Faber, B&W, Focal, Elac and of course Raidho, there is no doubt it is far from just kin that plays a role. Comparison perhaps not fair in my case as a D200 vs Aavik used are at diff price levels. Though I doubt the diff would be so much smaller having a D800.
Still stand by that I think Dev was more musical before, to my ears that is!

Not sure I'm entirely following this, but...before what? Before you heard the Aavik, or before Devialet changed something?

I had Devialets under 2 years and did all the updates and during that period something happened not to my liking soundwise.

I have a couple of Silver Phantoms and also noticed that the quality of audio has deteriorated.

Deviate announced today the Phantom Gold series. Is it possible that they will controlling the audio quality in the different series to justify the price difference?

Has anyone tried downgrading the firmware back to the solid audio quality version? If so, how and which version?

Doesn't surprise me. My D200 sounds much better with an old firmware as well.

That definitely sounds to me like some Kind of defamation (they still try to sell the old phantoms and they were selling the actual experts in the last few months) so they are for sure not interested to make them worse!
I think we should try to remain calm and matter-of-fact.
It may help to listen to some music from time to time.
