#1
Guildford Audio are proud to announce that we will be holding a Devialet Workshop on October 11th & 12th 2014 at:

Best Western Moat House
Mill Lane
Sindlesham
Wokingham
RG41 5DG

Times:
Saturday: 10am - 5pm
Sunday: 9am - 4pm

We will have two large rooms with the full range of Devialets on demonstration. Full details of other components to follow.

The Devialet Workshops will be held at intervals during the day and a full list of times will be advertised in the near future. Devialet will be sending personnel over from France to facilitate the workshops, allowing you to ask any questions you may have.

It would be appreciated, if you have any ideas for workshops that you post them in this thread allowing us to tailor each workshop to suit.

Hope to see you all there.

Maybe a vinyl workshop, cartridge setting / set up, digiting vinyl etc.

Or going digital, optimising PC's, media players (say JRiver or Foobar) for use with AIR.

I also think an open question and answer session might work well. Sometimes you can learn much more listening to the answers to other peoples questions, that is, ones would never have thought of asking yourself.

Hello Gavin,

How about an "AIR diagnostic/debugging" workshop - how to identify and resolve streaming problems? More positively this could be "how to get the best out of AIR".

I would endorse that. Everything is easy on the Devialet except Air. Their website, in my opinion, does not cover Air in a structured way and, for novices, there is little guidance on what the various settings mean or do. In addition, the website is not great at problem resolution - which was understandable in the early days of Air but should now be better populated.

Please ask Devialet rep to describe effects of SAM regulation. What dość it mean 40% of SAM and how this regulation changes sound od speakers with SAM on?
Also Please ask Them to inform us if SAM is 100% safe for loudspeakers. There are some voices of Devialet's sceptics saying that SAM can destroy woofers.
Best regards.

In light of a 'test' and a large of number of comments here on the Mac AIR v MiND 180 v Auralic ARIES v totaldac d1 server as front ends, it would be extremely enlightening if you could present a few different front end options for everyone to hear. It would be great if this could be done in symbiosis with the Devialet reps explaining the different and best ways to connect to a Devialet.
